Guidelines For Gymnasts
Our Gymnasts Must:
- Abide by the rules regarding dress and conduct as stated in this policy.
- Behave in an orderly and appropriate matter. Respect officials, coaches, judges and other gymnasts at all times.
- Bullying will not be tolerated. Failure to do so may result in suspension from the gym.
- Attend all of your group sessions. If unable to attend please make sure your coach is informed. Sickness or injury may require a session to be missed, but a specific injury may be accommodated by working with exercises or on flexibility with other parts of the body. If in doubt consult your coach.
- Be punctual in attending sessions. Warm up is very important to prevent injuries and allow a high level of performance. Do not enter the gym unless a coach is present.
- Wear appropriate clothing (i.e. leotard, shorts/longs). No outdoor shoes are allowed in the gym. Long hair must be tied back and jewellery must not be worn. Earrings should be removed or taped if recently pierced.
- Follow instructions given by a coach as quickly and exactly as possible.
- Support and encourage fellow participants and be sporting in competition.
- Always train with a positive attitude. Use all the time available to practice the skills being worked on.
- Respect and take care of the Club's equipment.
- Have pride in the Club and leave all areas as tidy as you found them. Gymnasts are expected to help put out and tidy up equipment at each session.
Remain in the gym until collected by a parent/guardian. No gymnast under 16 is allowed to leave the gym unaccompanied unless agreed with the coach in writing.
